Willingness.
Oct 10, 2023When I'm coaching, I meet a lot of people who are the opposite of willing. I would say the opposite of willing is oppositional.
I meet oppositional leaders that want to tear people down, that want to be overly critical, that want to play devil's advocate all the time, even when it is or is not appropriate.
And they develop a bit of a habit or a bit of a pattern of being oppositional.
Are you someone who is willing to try?
Are you someone who is okay to step out there, put yourself out there and be willing to be different?
Are you someone who is willing to go outside your comfort zone?
Are you someone who is willing to think of things from a new perspective and to take on information and to change your mind or to change your view about something that you might hold close to your heart?
Are you someone who is willing to be open?
There's a lot said about oppositional thinking and business, but if you flip the other side of that, we're talking about willingness.
So are you someone who is open -minded enough to either admit when you're wrong or to take on new information to change a decision that you might hold about something?
You also might be very comfortable with your decision. I'm not saying you need to change your decisions about everything. I'm just saying, do you have that willingness, that openness?
Check in with yourself today about all of the things that you hold strong views about.
Are you willing to be open to listen to the information?
Are you be willing to engage in what other people are saying about a topic?
How open and willing are you in your workplace?
